Bomber. Pours a murky brown color with a small beige head. A big woody bourbon vanilla nose. The flavor is vanilla, chocolate, heat, a big burst of fruity berries, toffee. The overall flavor has lots of woody oxidized notes. Plum and heat. Thin palate. I like this a lot. Solid.

Bomber. Nose of vanilla and bourbon mostly. A bit of tartness, vanilla and bourbon flavor. Light body. Bourbon is a bit much.

Batch #8? (Says #8 at the centre of the picture), listed at 10,6% ABV. Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish lighter brown head. Aroma of alcohol, bourbon, rye, grain, rich chocolatre, roasted malt, pit fruits, raisins and somehow even more sugars and depth - very nice and flavourful. Full-bodied; Rich bourbon flavours coupled with vanilla, oak, cedar, grain and roasted malt, but this one shows more like a barley wine with big hits of alcohol and pit fruits also accompanied with some raisins and figs. Aftertaste shows a very boozy finish with the bourbon and oak taking centre stage. Overall, a very nice and rich beer with a lot of flavour and depth but perhaps not enough complexity in the style department - nice but after you had a few sips, it didn’t change too much. That said, perhaps the aging helped/aided to that? I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 27-September-2013 for US$14,55 sampled at home in Washington on the opposite end of the country on 26-October-2014.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out loads of bourbon, a little vanilla, and bourbon. Flavour is all bourbon and vanilla, with a thinner silky body. Very flavourful and quite sweet without being cloying. Solid stuff.

courtesy of BA trade. dark brown, tan head. aroma, loaded with bourbon goodness, malty, roasted, mocha, light coffee. flavors, light fizzy carbonation, caramel malts, mocha, wood barrel, bourbon, hints of vanilla, mild bitetrness. For 8.5% this one was thin, but yet full flavors. Rich and nicely balanced. Can’t go wrong with this kind of barrel aging.

Tasting at Papsø
Dark brown color, almost black; huge head, frothy. The aroma has strong chocolate, and old coconut (strange), more than the Bourbon. Creamy mouthfeel, strong roasted malt flavor, evident alcohol warmth; too much roasted malt in the end, not enough chocolate or sweetness. I kinda like it because it’s different, not because it’s specially good.
