“brewed for the harvest”
This beer begins in spring when oat seeds are sown as soon as the soil can be worked. Meanwhile, select types of barley are planted with hopes that Mother Nature will be kind. Our brewers wait patiently until the legumes are mature and ready for the scythe. Upon delivery to the brewery, these ingredients are mixed together in the mash tun where they steep, creating a rich molasses-like liquid. Spicy hops are boiled with the thick brew, giving balance and complexity. Brewers yeast feasts upon the rich sugars, concluding its transformation into oatmeal stout. Pour Oat into a snifter, allow its thick tan head to slowly rise, releasing unbridled aromas. The color of Oat is as dark as a moonless night. The first sip reveals Oat’s thick and nourishing taste. Like a haversack to a horse, a bottle of this stout is a meal in itself. Enjoy responsibly.

Pours black with a short, dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, oatmeal, cream,..a little alcohol. Flavour is boozy vanilla, oatmeal, chocolate. Very sweet, very rich. Pretty subdued for 11%....a bit ashy at finish. Nicely done.

Bottle @ Greg’s house picked up at Wine and Cheese in STL. Pours a black appearance with a thin, brown head. Roasty dark chocolate malty, oaty, a bit grainy, somewhat herbal aroma. Thick chocolate, mild graham cracker, oaty, mild vanilla, thick malt chocolate flavor that’s very smooth for 11%.

Fra flaske på ratingkollaps hos Ole Anders: det er slikt man har dårlige venner for, snakk om smaksopplevelse! So smooth and creamy. Lite aroma, men du verden for en smak - kveldens største munnfylde. Mørk karamell, Freias Dronningsjokolade og de luxe moccabønner. O salige stund.

A black beer with a weak and brown head. Aroma is very balanced and pleasant, roasted malts, sweetness, chocolate, liquirice and hint of dark fruits. Taste is quite sweet and roasted at the beginning, then also coffee, chocolate, liquirice and strenght, aftertaste is dryer with liquirice and mild herbal bitterness. Full bodied, the oath gives a smooth and velvety drinkability. Great balance and smooth IS, no over attempting; easy but very enjoyable beer.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with VANØ Bergen. Pours dark brown, with a small, creamy head. Aroma is caramel and coffee, with notes of syrup and burned sugar. Body is, as can be expected ,full, and quite thick. Flavour is toffee and candi and burned sugars, which gives a sweet finish with a bitter twist.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with tan head and leaves good spotty lacing. Chocolate roast and coffer aroma. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet vanilla and roast. Easy to drink a very good Imperial stout from Southern Tier.
