A decent festbier, the grain forwardness is awesome, just the noble hop bitterness is harsh. beerfest dresden

500ml bottle. Clear, copper colour with average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, grainy and minimally strawy, malty aroma with a touch of honey and wallpaper paste, whiffs of horse dung. Taste is sweet, malty, hints of honey, bitter hoppy overtones.

0,5 l swing top bottle from a local Hol´Ab! market. Looks good with a clear copper and an huge and steady three finger frothy pale beige head. Smells low malty. Taste starts also malty, increasing grainy and alcoholic metallic. Getting a more dry bitterness in the second part. Little bit scratchy, some roasted malt, some sweetness. Lacks of aroma like so much other Helle Bocks.

0.5 l bottle from local 'Getränke Hoffmann', best before February 2020. Clear, deep amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a bit floral aroma of honey, caramel and some grains. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly floral taste of caramel, grains and some honey, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally grassy finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Solid Bock, not overly deep but quite quaffable and very clean.

“Altenburger Bock“, Flasche (50 cl). - Schönes Kupferrotgold, klar, sahniger Schaum. - In der Nase breites süßlich-karamelliges Malz, im Hintergrund etwas derbe krautige Herbe, Anklänge an Putzlumpen. - Antrunk breit und grobschlächtig karamelmalzig-nussig mit ruppiger krautiger, leicht zitroniger Herbe. Durchschnittlich rezent, vollmundig, hart mineralisches Mundgefühl, deutlich fuselig. Im Abgang ruppige Herbe mit schroffer Bittere. - Derbes Bockbier, bocktypisch malzschwer aber ohne feinere Aromen. Nur für hartgesottene Trinker.

50 cl swing top bottle. Honey color, short thick white head. Aroma is malty with pilsener hops, mild syrupy and bready, molasses, light spice, light copper/metallic. Decently hopped at least, taste is balanced. Some solvent in the finish, alcoholic but not overwhelming.
