PBF XV. Close to black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, some liquorice, mild nutty and a bit alcohol tones to it. Flavour is quite similar to the flavour with some vanilla, and a bit spicy tones. Alcohol is a bit too burning in the finish, otherwise a nice one.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 24/08/2025.
Mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to the edge in time.
Nose is bourbon oak, spice, toffee, dates, figs, nostril booze tickle.
Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, raisins, dates, toffee fudge, chocolate shavings, booze tunes, good bourbonics.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost and well proportioned bourbon spike.
Solid Old Skool BA 'life'.

Can. A mild to medium haze on this darkish amber beer, good pale tan head gives about half a minute of life. Smooth palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Pretty bloody light for the hefty abv. Wonderful malts, buttery caramel and toffee. Good malt cream and a very nicely interesting vanilla vibe from the oak barrelling. The bourbon imparts a good ripe fruity vibe. Smooth finish brings everything together along with some bourbon alcohol spicy bite. Leaves a Werthers Original aftertaste, well a WO that was accidentally dropped in a glass of bourbon. Great bba barleywine, doesn't have quite the incredible muscularity of a Anchorage Deal Devil affair but brings a slightly different charm. Super.

Can. Color: Dark copper, fast diminishing beige head. Aroma: Bourbon, spicy rye, dark dried fruit. Taste: Sweetish Bourbon, vanilla, dark malt, hints of roasted malt, some caramel, nicely combined with spicy rye, dark dried fruit (date, dark dried plum), oak wood and hop notes. Boozy hints. Over mediim to full body, below average carbonation. Lightly sticky mouthfeel. Well balanced, nice complexity. Nice one!
