After spending a year enveloped in the darkness of freshly emptied Bourbon barrels, this robust Russian Imperial Stout has emerged. It offers a smooth finish that lingers with notes of dark chocolate, cherry, and oak.

Dark brown. Rich. Big nose, very good bourbon. Big body, lots of sweet malt, and a fair amount of bourbon. This has a sweet slightly meaty character.

500ml from our Festival of Dark Arts 2026 trip with Josh (thx for the beer, man!) @ Ryan's.
Aroma: American oak, some dark sugars, bold.
Taste: along the same lines, a lot of dark caramel notes, a bit hot.
Overall: pleasant.

500ml bottle, 2025 vintage. Dark chocolate aroma with notes of roasted malt, molasses, cherry, vanilla, bourbon and oak. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has no retention and no lacing. Starts with rich dark chocolate, cherry, molasses and vanilla flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes incredibly smooth with roasted malt, bourbon and oak flavors as well as having a wonderful warming booziness as the very end that warms the belly on this chilly evening. Fantastic.

On tap at Oakshire - PDX, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich and decadent, with huge bourbon barrel presence dominating the nose, with powerful roasted malt and dark sugars underneath. Flavour is massive, with humongous bourbon barrel presence, vanillin, dark sugars, and a deep roasted malt base. Quite viscous and powerful without being brutal. Fantastic as usual from this series.
