Bottle, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a brown body with a ruby glow, almost clear, and topped by a small, beige head. The aroma has nuts, caramel, some herbs and maybe a faint note of DMS. The flavor has some chocolate in addition to the nuts and caramel found in the flavor, and is rather sweet. Some herbal notes as well. Full-bodied and smooth, with a caramel-sweet, nutty finish. A nice beer, but I am not very fond of the herbal touch in this one. (090516)

(Draught at Nörrebro Bryghus, Copenhagen, 13 Feb 2009) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, nuts and dark rye bread. Malty, fruity, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate and citrussy hops in the finish. No hop monster, but there is a solid underlying, lingering bitterness throughout. Medium body. Very well balanced and nice beer.

On tap. Slightly hazy orangey brown with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Discreet nutty nose. Full-bodied with plenty of roasted malt accents and again some nuttiness. Ends with a somewhat brutal hop bite that is a little unrefined. 020209

Celebrating my 1900th Danish rating. Draft. A very hazy deep red beer with a lazing light tan head. The aroma is sweet and primarily hoppy giving it notes of grass and elderflowers, but also notes of nuts and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops, lending it notes of pine needles, grapefruit, and a bit of grass, on a modest malty background, which lends it notes of nuts and caramel, leading to a bitter hoppy finish. The body is a bit thin, but the alcohol tickles the tongue lightly anyways.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a minor orange glare and a small off-white head. Solid grapefruity hoppy aroma to a light roasted and caramel malty nose. Light pinewood too. Flavour starts medium sweet and quite fruity from the hops. Followed by an immediate bitterness and descending into a rather dry finish. Good balance between the roasted malt and the hops oils and fruity notes initially - but not in the final impression. Holds a mild chocolate impression. Building solid bitterness in the finish taking the initial balance strongly towards a bitter and dry hops impression, slight sticky hops oily. The roasted malt comes more into the impression as the beer heats up. I do struggle a bit with the balance of this one - a bit too hoppy for the maltbase, but still quite tasty.
