Rakia Barrel Aged Imperial stout
Aged in a white muscat Rakia barrels (Bulgarian Brandy) for 12 months, our goal was to make a beer that can really soak up the essence of the Rakia barrel. Up front there are notes of Raisons, plums, toast, mocha and a long vanilla oak finish.
Best enjoyed over 10C.

On tap at Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brownish head, chocolate, alcohol and light barrel in the nose. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, notes of brandy and some licorice with noticable barrel. Alcohol hidden.

CBJ bottle share, thanks to LKS for the bottle. Near clear dark brown beer, a very thin and very short lived tan head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Very light bodied but bringing a decent tangy dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits. The Bulgarian brandy brings rich boozy fruits. Not like a trad brandy, more a east European plum brandy type of thing. Gum tingling finish. Nice. Interesting. Drinkable.

Bottle at De Dikke Koning, Amersfoort. Oaky aroma with dark chocolate, roasted malt, brandy, alcohol, red fruits. Bit boozy, rich sweetish flavour, medium to full body. Lovely.
