Denmark is usually one of my dark horse favorites. Their Euro 2021 run was absolutely legendary. Unfortunately this Denmark has been a far cry from that. Not the worst team in the WC, but arguably the dullest.

From bottle at McJoy’s Choice, Nyhavn, Copenhagen 31.03.17. Clear pale copper. Not much head. Aroma and taste of harsh brittle, caramel and a hint of dark berries. Not great.

On tap @ Fox and Hounds, Aabenraa. Clear, deep reddish amber body with a medium sized off white head. Really good locking. Weak in aroma, mostly caramel malt with a hint of toast and some ripe fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, hint of toast, dark fruit and rather low bitterness. Medium to thin body and almost no aftertaste. Quite light in flavor, not very exciting, just a tad better than the regular Carlsberg.

Clear red brown colour, nice frothy off-white head, lasts a while, good lacing. Sweet malty nose, lightly roasted, caramel, herbal notes. Taste light sweet and bitter, hint of fruitiness. Light to medium body, creamy texture though a bit watery, soft carbonation, smooth, soft bittersweet finish.

Bottled. Deep amber colour with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel and mild toasted malts along with some slight herbal notes. Flavour is caramel malts, mild toasted notes as well as some slight grassy and herbal notes. Also some mild ripe fruity sweetness to it. Surprisingly good.

Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, slightly lacing off-white head, metal and vegetables cover the dry caramel in the nose; mild dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; short and watery metallic-malty finish. Pretty horrible…

0,33 l. bottle. Dark amber colour with a small, white head that quikly disappears. Caramel from the malts is the most present aroma, but also some dark fruits. Light bitterness, thin body, flat carbonation, and a shortlived finish. A beer with historic roots - I would prefer something more modern, for a warm day a pilsener would be better...
