Packed full of roasted malt and pitch black to the eye, Joseph Holt’s Black is an indulgent drop without being too heavy.
This comforting dark ale is rich in flavour boasting chocolate notes with a slight nutty finish. Black is finished off with a balanced bitterness and creamy head. Moreish and real smooth.
Don’t just take our word for how good it is though – Black won a gold medal at the 2015 International Brewing Awards making it officially one of the best dark ales in the world. Black is also vegan friendly.

Roasted flavour containing hints of dark caramel, dark fruits and leafy bitterness towards the ending. Clean, fresh and a bit watered in the mouth (Manchester, 21.01.2013).

On a permanent pump at The Ape and Apple in Manchester city centre. This is a very black mild with a diminishing creamy head. Fairly smooth and crisp but not big in flavour.
