Our legendary winter warmer. Brewed with Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, Winter Lightning is very lightly spiced and deceptively drinkable.

Cask at the Princess of Wales, Blackheath. Dark golden pour with a white head. Nose of straw, grapefruit and spice. Much the same action in the flavour. Bitter zing in the finish. Not bad.

Cask pint at the Leyton Orient Supporters Club. Golden colour, thin white head. Moderately hoppy aroma. Fairly bitter flavour, but not much body to support it. One-dimensional, but half decent.

Cask, handpump at The Chequers, Oxford in company of Grace after works Christmas meal, Thursday 18th December 2014. Pours gold with a smattering of white bubbles atop. A bit too biscuity and with a flabby, lazy sweetness, lacking in fruity bite and offering little. Served well just a tad drab. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

On tap somwhere! Clear amber beer. Light dry crispy palate. Nicely balanced. Bitter tea with fruity hops peeping through. Finishes minerally and with underlying bubblegum sweetness.
