Rich, dark Porter. Full of dark roast and coffee flavours from the dark malts complemented by fruity hop flavours. Dry but not too bitter. A classic Porter.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear cola brown. Decent fairly soppy beige foam. Not a deal happening aroma wise. A bit nutty. A bit earthy. Some light roast malt. Taste is decent with some well balanced sweet malt and earthy lightly fruity bitterness. Drinks well. Light sweet light dry bitter finish.

Cask at House of Hop, Darlington. Gluten Free. Dark amber brown colour, biege foam head leaving lacing and aroma of roasted malt, earthy, chocolate & coffee. Taste is smokey, roast malty, chocolate, molasses, dried fruits, liquorice, coffee, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Cask at The New Oxford, Manchester. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has light notes of milk chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and milk chocolate, leading to a dry milk chocolaty finish.

Cask @ The New Oxford, Salford, Manchester M3. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty aroma with hints of caramel and coffee. Also has an earthy hoppy hints. Raosted malty caramel and coffee flavor with some hints of hops and vanilla. Has a roasted malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask (gravity) @ The New Oxford, 11 Bexley Sq, Salford, Manchester England M3 6DB.Clear dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dusty, coffee and vanilla notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20090122]

Cask, Rigby’s, Liverpool. Very dark brown colour with a thin off-white head. Caramel malt, dark chocolate aroma. Flavour quite strange, trace of tcp?! raisin, molasses, nuts in there too with some hoppage. Not really sold on this.
