3/8/2022. Cask at GBBF 2022, day 2. Pours unclear dark bronze brown with a frothy white head. Aroma is boozy, biscuit, malt, toffee, marmalade, raisins, sultanas and date. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium to full body, sticky, soft carbonation. Sozzled raisin finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at Merchants Inn Beer Festival, Rugby - 31/10/12. Amber with a thin off white head. Nose comprises dark caramel malt, tropical fruit, ripe mango, booze and a little spice. Tastes of bitter grapefruit, rich tropical fruits, orange pith, sweet malt, candied sugar, light pineapple. Fuller end of medium bodied with fine carbonation leading to a bitter sweet finish. Alcohol is evident but not OTT. Flavoursome and well executed for a 10% cask DIPA!

Bottle from Pig’s Ear festival in London, 2008
Beautiful amber color; too high carbonation makes a huge head. The aroma is hoppy, old, a bit yeasty and fruity; apples; sweaty; strange but actually interesting. The flavor is weird, dusty, a bit malty; bitter but also a bit buttery. Off.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit, and perfume. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol as well as medium notes of dusty hops, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

30th December 2008. Hazy brown beer, very frothy head but it quickly dies away to nothing. Soft and creamy IPA - the hops are juicy and not overpowering and impart a soft marmalade flavour. A nice undertone of creamy malt. Finishes with warming hints of port. Very civilised and tasty!

Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. It’s alright. Quite a stable 10% IPA with decent flavours. It’s got a pretty good malty backbone, but it’s ok hop. Not too aggressive.
