(On tap) Pours a clear, warm reddish brown with a dense, beige head. Lightly roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with lightly sweet roasted malt, vanilla and again distinct coffee notes leaving a distinct bitterness. Very solid. 180908

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 20 Sep 2008) Reddish brown colour with brief head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit, dried apricots, caramel, toffee and dusty hops. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, dark bread, caramel and generous doses of earthy hops in a balanced, warming finish. Sweetish. Very nice one, the 2007 version was nice, but this beer style seems to suit them better. 7/4/8/4/15=3.8 (Rerate: bottle, 13 April 2009, under somewhat more sober circumstances) Dark brown colour with ruby hints. Creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate, wort bread, soy sauce and spicy hints of clove. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, raisins, prunes, wort, soy sauce and brown sugar. Spicy finish with hints of clove and citrussy hops. Slightly over medium body, smooth mouthfeel. A balanced malt sweetness shines through. Excellent beer.
