Changed name from Juleøl Premium to Juleøl Vellagret in November 2014. The beer formerly known as Juleøl, 6.5%, is now known as Juleøl Premium.

Outside it is 36 degrees celcius below zero, need something to warm me up. Dark amber with huge off white head, strong aroma of malt -- same with the taste, lot of malts, hints of caramel and roast, olso nice bitterness from hops that evens out the sweetness, well done -- what draws down is the aftertaste of alcohol, but still good beer

Clear dark amber with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. Flavour was quite strong and had roasted malt, caramel, dark fruits and chocolate. Somewhat boozy but nice.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel, malt, and bread, leading to a dry bready finish. Thanks Rune for this beer.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours a clear reddish brown with a firm beige head. Rustic aroma, overripe fruit and wood. Solid body, low in carbonation, hard roasted malts, licorice and rustic wood. Lightly hoppy finish. Very delicious and very non-Norwegian. 111009

330 ml bottle. One year storage version. (re-rated 2015) Dark amber body with a nice, dense beige head. Quite strong malty aroma with some barley wine qualities, sweet malt, caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel, dry fruit, low bitterness, some warming alcohol and a faint, pleasant hint of oxidation. Nice body and good aftertaste.
Old rating 8-4-8-3-16
Dark, reddish brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, raisins, prunes and spices. Flavor of sweet malt, dry fruit, a hint of caramel, balanced bitterness and warming alcohol. I find the palate surprisingly mild, but this is anyway a really nice and balanced beer.

Bottle 0,33l. Dark mahogany colored. A large creamy tanned head. Spicy aroma. Flavor of sweet fruit and malt. Alcohol well hidden – except for it’s warming effect. Some dry fruity bitter aftertaste.

Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Deep chestnut, thin beige head. Bit of paint/bubblegum, spices. Not sure why I like it, but I do. Malty aroma. Love the mouthfeel. It’s spicy and rather good.
