Established back in 1869, Tooheys has always had a disregard for the status quo.
This refreshing ‘new’ lager completely revolutionised Australian beer culture. The balance of smooth malt character and a delicate hop aroma is perfectly suited to Australia’s hot climate.
So next time a Tooheys New is in your hands, remember it’s more than just a beer. It’s a piece of Australian history that transformed taps and taste buds across a nation.

Can, 0.375l. Clear pale golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of grainy malt, bread, grassy hops and some metallic notes. Taste starts with light sweet maltiness, follows sour grassy and bready with crisp and dry mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Light to medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. My first Aussie beer tried Down Under...

Small white head quickly disappears. Clear slightly pale amber body. Faint paper and caramel aroma. Dry-sweet caramelly taste with sugary notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish cardboard and caramel aftertaste with mealy grassy notes. It’s mostly decent. (0.375l bottle, Taste, Hang Hao, Hong Kong.)

375ml bottle. Pours a dirty gold, with a thin bubbly head. Aroma is corn and soap. Taste starts with some corn, then soapy malt and lemon washing up liquid on the finish.
