Not pulling up any trees by any stretch, but a decent enough thirst quencher - pours a clear amber (eventually) with a creamy white head, malty and slightly fruity on the nose, bitingly cold so flavourless to begin with but fruity malts come through with old school floral hop bitterness

Creamy off white head on an amber coloured body. Light malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & cloying. Malt, brown sugar & caramel tastes with a lightly hopped finish. Easy going.

On tap at Hedlam Hall Hotel. Amber colour, creamy white foam head and malty aroma. Tangy malty flavour with some grassy metallic bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, tangy bitter finish. OK.

Keg @ Swan Inn, Rhyl [031215] Smooth Nitro version
Amber, clear, nitro white head
Aroma of slight bitter cereal
Taste of light sweet malt, grainy bitter, rough grain, not good
Palate - Medium light body. Finish of bitter grain.
Overall - Seemed to be cheap mass produced swill to me...think its worse than John Smith’s

marvellous appearance of clear amber colour, and half inch creamy dense white head, which lasts forever; aroma of toffee, figs, and floral hops; taste of caramel, and some floral hops...very watery

On Keg at Padiham FC - Usual nitro look of clear red body, thick foamy white head. It goes down hill after that, a bit bland in the nose and taste and... erm that’s it. Can’t say I’m disappointed because I never expected a lot from this in the first place.

Smooth tasting, looks nice in the glass maintaining its head, but ordinary bitter in flavour.

On tap @ Cumbria Park Hotel, Carlisle. Pours dark amber with nice head. The nose is very faint and only a faint malt note can be detected. The taste is of toffee, caramel malt and some cream. The palate is medium in body and texture then slightly watery which then hides the slightly astringent finish. Overall smacks of big regional mono beer.
