Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double malt beer produced using 100% high quality barley malt. This gives it a full, caramelised malt flavour and an intense aroma of roasted malt. Its distinctive amber colour originates from the type of malt used when brewing, a special malt which is dried and roasted.

Pours clear dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of burnt caramel. Taste has toffee, rich malt with a slight ferrous aftertaste. Palate has much of the same, emphasis on the intensity of the malt. Smokey. Good.

Like the other birra except concentrate the malt train into some endless desire to drive a truck of malt into a brick wall. Except it's a train. Who builds train tracks like that?!

Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of P&E. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit, vegetables, dandelion syrup and alcohol. Pours clear brown color with large soapy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel, following is toasted, vegetably and mild fruity, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Pretty much as expected...
