Cask at the Wharf, Aalborg. It serves a clear, dark, dark brown body, next to black, and is topped by a tiny beige head. More or less just a layer or two of bubbles. The flavor is roasted and coffeeish, with some fruits in the background. Too coffee-ish and heavy roasted for my likings. The flavor has a little sweetness to give it some more balance, but it’s still a dry one, with fruity hoppyness and some hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Some sour note too. Fruity finish with some bitterness. Not my favorite porter, easy to drink and all that, but too dry and charcoal-ish for me. (090205)

The flavor is sweet with notes of butterscotch and malt as well as a light acidic note from the roasted malt, leading to a very dry and roasted finish. The body is thin.

Cask handpull at The Phoenix, Canterbury. Black beer with thick beige tight creamy head. Some roasted malt bit of sourness. Could do with a bit more flavour. Coffee on nose. Fine condition, but more like a mild except for the alcohol
