Deep dark brown coloured body with a ruby glow and a thick, three to four centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat for quite a while. Aroma of, yes, chocolate, cherries, vanilla, lactose, bitter hops, grapefruit, apples, lemons and a dose of grapefruit. Medium-bodied; Strong hop bite at first with some grapefruit and lemons, but that fades immediately with a ton of lactose, cherries and somehow - chocolate - seemingly white chocolate - in the mix. Aftertaste shows the bitterness from the hops, but also the chocolate and sweetness from the lactose and cherries with a funky, but somehow balanced blend throughout. Overall, an odd an interesting combination (which is why I bought it), but didn't quite work out too well. Nice-ish to try, but at these prices (Australian), perhaps not such a good experiment. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Australian Wine & Spirits on Pitt Street, Sydney (CBD), New South Wales, Australia on 12-August-2019 for AU$6,50 sampled later in the evening on 12-August-2019 for my first beer here in Australia for this trip.

From a 355ml can on 29/6/2019.Pours a hazy dark amber with a small head. The aroma is a slghtly tart light cherry. Delivers on the promised cherry and chocolate, with the flavours coming together very nicely. There's a slight spiciness at the back with a modest bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dainton are currently pumping out amazing, often adventurous NEIPAs at the moment and this is another good'n.
