Abnormal Genius is an Imperial English Style Golden Ale brewed with honey and sunflower seeds. A distinct aroma of peanut butter emits from this deep golden-colored ale, undoubtedly the result of the unique combination of ingredients used. Honey flavors are predominant with a balanced finish that is not overly sweet, bitter or dry.

75 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 29.01.2010
Aroma is quite malty with floral notes, fruits and some alcohol. Flavour is sweetish and malty with honey, some alcohol and distant floral notes. Too sweet. Abnormal indeed like many other Shorts beers.

Cloudy amber beer, good white head. Softish dry palate, smooth. Orange with a trace of honey, subtle pepper. The sunflowers provide a little bitterness and more obvious in the aftertaste. Dry finish. A rich golden beer, a little too dry, but as always with Shorts - intertesting!

750 ml bottle. 2007 vintage. Almost clear, amber liquid with a red tinge and small off-white head. Aroma is malty and a bit boozy with notes of caramel, nutty, sunflower seeds, honey. Taste is dry with light bitterness. A bit strange. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. A bit boozy. Hmm, strange but quite good.

#390 of 798 bottles, bought at kihoskh, copenhagen. clear amber, smooth offwhite beige head. aroma is quite blended, some alc. noticeable, slightly malty and nutty, not very sweetish. flavor is honey, alc. malts, bitter notes from alc. and probably also from some bitter herbal spices. Some of the bitter notes might actually be sunflower seeds. When you get used to the alc. the beer tastes pretty good, then the sweet notes and honey are easier to get.
