Bottle, as Julens Sneugle. Pours clear darkish amber with stable light beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with faint notes of hops and some yeast. Sweetish, malty flavour, quickly replaced bybbitter notes of, well, more likely metal than hops, unfortunately. Mildly roasty and bitter finish. Thin body. Nothing special.

Best before was 15.09.11, so more than 2 years old. The beer is brown in the glass, malty aromatic aroma. It starts mild, very mild, slightly malty and a bit sweet. The mainpart is smooth, a bit bitter, but only slightly. The aftertaste is long, malty-sweet with a medium carbonation. Slightly hints of caramel, brown sugar. --> nice malty beer. Could be a bit deeper in aroma and a bit less sweet. Nice. --> 10/13/9/10

Labelled as a Julebryg Julens ’Sneugle’ (33cl bottle) with a small picture of Santa being snowed on: poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru stemmed tulip @ home on 28 Dec 2012. Clear body of a mahogany colour: on top a thin tan covering of small bubbles. Not a lot of aroma but malty feel to the taste: mildly toffee and caramel flavours come through as the beer warms, both in the smell and taste. Not what I was expecting, but OK I suppose. Not enough depth of flavour or body really, I think my Dad got this from a cheap supermarket while in Copenhagen and it shows.

Bottle 330ml @ gunnfryd
Pours clear amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 5.7% as Sneugle. I finally got hold of this rare gem after more than 7 years on ratebeer. Grainy and malty aroma. Clear brown colour. OK, but unstable white head. The flavour is slightly roasted, has a touch of liquorice. OK maltiness. A lot better than expected.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, malty and some dark sugar. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. A bit thin bodied and somewhat watery. Not as bad as it’s rating would suggest. 141110

bottle 33cl. clear amber, small offwhite head. That amber is very nice looking indeed. hint of orange in it. looks very great in a tulip style glass. sort of like dark gold. dusty boring faint malty, faint cookies aroma. flavor is alcohol, burnt caramel, and then the metal kicks in. ends metallic and bitter. the flavor is not a 2.2 that’s for sure. great looks and a nonexistant but not offending aroma is pulling up the average.

Bottled (Beerangel, BB 09/2009). Clear ruby color, good creamy beige head. Nose has sugarness - caramel malts, chocolate and some bready maltyness. Quite sweet and chocolaty flavor with brown sugar, some toasted notes. Light alcohol in the finish, not much bitterness. This is perhaps a bit too sweet, almost cloying, but somewhat Christmasy and anyhow better than RB score 2.07 indicates.
