Not usually a fan of pumpkin...anything, but this is pretty good.

From Trader Joe in Vegas under the name KBC Pumpkin Ale. Pours a clear golden-orange colour with an average head that does not leave much. Aromas and flavours are like pumpkin pie. Nutmeg spices and some nice sweetness in the taste. Like pumpkin pie in a glass. Does get a little rich, but a pretty nice pumpkin ale overall.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 9/2/2012. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, brown sugar, wheat, toasted bread, and herbal/spice earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of pumpkin/spices and light-moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, brown sugar, wheat, toasted bread, and herbal/spice earthiness. Light herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, brown sugar, wheat, toasted bread, and herbal/spice earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin/spices and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a nice pumpkin/spiced pale wheat ale style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of pumpkin/spices and light-moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s labeled KBC. It pours a super clear pale gold color with a small off white head. The aroma has nice squash notes with some cinnamon. The flavor has apple, cinnamon, light squash and light acidity with a little pepper in the finish. Very pleasant and dry with a little cinnamon. Good.

Tangy bready malt flavor has all the obligatory pumpkin pie spice flavors. Light bodied and indistinguishable from rest of the glut of Pumpkin brews.

Bottle at a co-workers house, thanks for the opportunity, I think. Big sweet brown sugar with plenty of pie spices and little else beer like from this bottle. I guess on the plus side the spices surely drowned out and diacetyl that was probably in this.

Poured from tap medium golden with a thin white head. Aromas of nutmeg pumpkin and cinnamon. Taste is slightly sweet with alot of spice overtones. Needs more pumpkin.

Bottle. Aroma is moderately strong pumpkin pie--nutmeg, allspice. Appearance is light yellowish brown with minimal head with decent lacing. Taste is measured pumpkin--identifiable as such but not over the top or overly sweet, with a little bit of citrus. Palate is crisp, light bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and dry finish. Overall, if you are looking for a pumpkin ale experience, then this would be a flavorful choice that doesn’t beat you over the head, is a little bit different and is refreshing.
