Sampled from the tap at the street party. Pours a clear deep amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and biscuit with a bit of straw underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and straw with a bit of biscuit towards the end.

Sampled @ GBBF Day 2. Hazy dark orange color, average sized off-white head. Weird unfresh aroma that I can’t really describe. Taste malts, sweetish, slight caramel. Flavor is ok, but I dislike the aroma.

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours lightly hazy brown with a decent white head. The aroma is soft, bitter - sweet, toasted brown bread, cereal, toasted nut and light spice. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, cereal, spice, toffee, melon, pear drop, caramel, apple and fruit cake with a dry finish. Low - medium body and soft carbonation. Sweet and oily. Fair fruity ale.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy orange to glossed over brown color. Bar pour yielded barely a head. Barely any lacing was around the glass.
The smell had a toasted caramel nuttiness over and underneath.
The taste was somewhat sweet nutty maltiness. There’s a dry sweet roasted nutty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a slight sessionability about it. The carbonation finishes slightly smooth.
Overall, good ESB. Too bad, it’s been retired.
