Better red than dead we reckon, which is why we've packed this Red IPA fit to burst with Mosaic and Citra hops woven around a full, malty base. Bitter citrus hops meets caramel/biscuity malts as a well balanced duo. Hints of cola and a bit chewy.

Day 21

Reckless Red IPA 6.5%

It is a cloudy cool winter day in Australia today so I thought I’d crack this beauty. Reddish amber with thick fluffy beige foam and a big peppery malty aroma with piney hop notes.

Medium to full bodied and smooth. This is a bitter piney IPA with some peppercorn, tobacco leaf and biscuit notes. It hits the spot, tasty.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy red tinted mid brown with small tan head. Great aroma of pine over citrus and toffee notes. Medium body with good carbonation. Flavour is a backbone of dark toffee malt with plenty of hops a robust level of bitterness, and herbal notes. There’s some citrus at the start. For me, the bitterness is dialled up a bit too far to work with malt flavours - it seems busy and intense.

Can. Amber with a good cm of pale beige head. Shyish aroma of ctirus and boiled lollies. More presence upon a taste with citrus and some tropical fruit, sticky breadcrust before decent bitterness. OK, let down by the aroma a bit.

From a 375ml can on 19/1/2025. Pours a clear light amber red with a medium head. Has a modest dark fruit and malt aroma. Tastes of citrus and a touch of dried fault with some hint of toasty malt. Finishes moderately bitter with just a touch of pine and resin. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Noting the referenced awards, I find it a bit bland and disappointing for the style.
