Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - orange and biscuit. Taste - dried orange then wholemeal bread. Light astringent malt on the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture. The finish is dry but perhaps verging on too astringent. Overall - decent but slightly astringent.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear orange gold with a thick bubbly white head. Aromas of yeast funk and oranges, brown bread. Taste is dry, bready, no fruit on the taste. Very dry finish.

Handpull at the Townhouse, Ely. Amber/copper with a creamy off-white head. Smells malty: lots of raw dough, caraway and some kumquat. Tastes sweet with a hint of rye spiciness. Some acidic bitterness in the harsh finish. It’s a bit messy, rough around the edges, and unsubtle as so many of its fellow malt bombs, but it’s decent enough in its own way. Wouldn’t want another though.

Hotel action. Musty old barnyard aroma. Taste is lemons, honey, marmalade and elderflower. Too sweet and sickly on the finish

Bottled (from AbM). Orangeish pale amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some nuttyness, mild citrus, some apples as well as wooden notes. Flavour is rather similar with a nice grassy/floral bitterness to it.
