Some of you may have actually had this beer before. This beer was created years ago by our very own Chloë for Harvest Fest, and to commemorate her first anniversary with us. She wanted to brew a big barleywine with plums and rainbow peppercorn. The first two things sounded great -- the third, not as much. But we let her do what she wanted and, per usual, she was right. The beer came out great and people really enjoyed it, so we decided to make it again for her and for all of you. The base is a blend of a couple of barley wines; the plum adds some nice sweetness, fruit, and acidity; and the peppercorn just adds a touch of almost a rye barrel spice note. It's unique and really well-balanced.

1.5L bottled 10/24/23, #321/675, drunk 8/9/25.
Clear, brown. Beige head quickly to edge.
Raisin, plum, prune, crusty brown bread. Very dark fruit. What is going on here? Not bad, though it's just mostly dark fruit.
Toffee, raisin, plum, zesty prune. Weird. But hey, it's not overly sweet. Medium body. Lingering leather and pepper. Did I mention very bizarre.

Start of epic tasting, we have lots of brew but need to space out these heavy hitters. Light chestnut colored and small beige head. Nose is dried fruits and light bourbon. Tatses of dates, plum, vanilla, rootbeer, bourbon (although maybe not aged in this). Slick body.

1.5 liter magnum from our membership. Bottled 10/2023. Deep murky brown in color. Aroma shows old raspberries, wood, peppercorn?? The peppercorn does show enough in the flavor to balance the malt. Interesting.
