As if Origin Story wasn't complex and indulgent enough already, allow us to introduce the nitro version! Expect caramel, honey, nuttiness, chocolate, coffee and subtle smokiness all coming through with refined depth. Rich residual sugars balance with oak tannins to keep the beer drinkable, moreish and spectacularly flavoursome.

440ml can from the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Poured a clear dark brown, almost black colour, with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, light sweet honey. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a rich, smooth, roasty, liquorice, molasses, earthy, light sweet caramel, light warm boozy alcohol, liquorice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Nitro version (infused with nitrogen in this case) of a Siren stout, thanks Meeki for sharing! Very firm and dense, creamy, mocha-beige, cappuccino-like 'nitro head' on a black robe with thin burgundy edges. Aroma of melting dark chocolate, toffee, brown bread dough, walnut paste, touch marmalade, pecan nut pie, muscovado sugar, fig syrup. Densely sweet, 'candied' onset, date, yellow raisin, fig syrup - sprinkled with a bit of soy sauce-like umami and softly carbonated, with indeed that very smoothly oily texture one can expect from a nitrogenated beer. Layers of black chocolate, caramel, toffee and mocha fill the mouth, softly bittered with roasty and eventually coffee-like flavours - again with a marmalade-like note somewhere on top of it all. Hints of almond and marmite pair with coffeeish and spicy-hoppy bitter notes, while the alcohol, though noticeably warming, behaves very decently and does a very good job at uniting all flavours in the end. Balanced, rich and unctuous, this is a high class stout for sure.

A typically sound Siren stout. Sweet, with rich dark malts, ample roast, a bit of boozy kick. Subtle earthy-ashy bitterness. Good stuff.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very intense, good roast, sweet impression, caramel, chocolate notes, oxidized, soy sauce. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice, chocolaty, very roasted, pretty dry, bitter, hoppy, lots of alcohol, bitter, sweet touch, more chocolate. Aftertaste: good roast, sweet, some caramel, sugary, chocolate, sweet, ok but not their best.
