A collab with Lervig, and named after Lervig's brewer Handsome Dave. This beer offers a combination of the two breweries' unique stout styles, and perfectly demonstrates how international collaboration makes the world a better place.
When we had Dave over from Lervig last month, we couldn’t let him go without making another little something to enjoy now and to tuck a portion of it away into barrels for a later date. This seems to be a bit of a growing tradition with our Nordic collaborations… and I like it!
Handsome Stout is a thick and oozy 10% stout, lots of liquorice notes with a sweet malty mouthfeel to round it off. Half of it packaged for enjoying now and the rest is now aging in a blend of different barrels and octaves.

Rich, quite fruity, earthy hops, grape, ripe berries. Oily and full bodied. Fairly bitter aftertaste.

Bottleshare at CBJ, thanks to Dan the man for the can. Clear deep amber brown beer, small tan head. Airy smooth palate, soft, reasonable fine carbonation, fine for the style. Slightly tangy chocolate malts, a little creamy sweetness. Some vague chocolate fudge. Airy finish. Not bad.

Nose is dark malts, toffee, charr, cocoa powder.
Taste comprises roast malts, spice, toasted brown sugar, chocolate, toffee.
Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy enough impy with an old skool vibe about it.

Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque, foamy beige head.
Nose - dark chocolate and going into molasses. Smoke and liquorice.
Taste - creamy chocolate up front, then straight into molasses and smoke.
Palate - full bodied, rich and then a roasty finish.
Overall - lovely strong but still dry stout.
