A collab with Lervig, and named after Lervig's brewer Handsome Dave. This beer offers a combination of the two breweries' unique stout styles, and perfectly demonstrates how international collaboration makes the world a better place.
When we had Dave over from Lervig last month, we couldn’t let him go without making another little something to enjoy now and to tuck a portion of it away into barrels for a later date. This seems to be a bit of a growing tradition with our Nordic collaborations… and I like it!
Handsome Stout is a thick and oozy 10% stout, lots of liquorice notes with a sweet malty mouthfeel to round it off. Half of it packaged for enjoying now and the rest is now aging in a blend of different barrels and octaves.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate foamy tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional sweetened cream and a bit of licorice. Very nice.

Can from Great Grog. Black body with a beige head that holds. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of cherry, liquorice, chocolate and a hint of smoke. Flavour of blackcurrant, chocolate and liquorice. Full body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is delightfully uncomplicated and delicious.

Can that I picked up from Hereford Beer House and consumed at home Monday 16th June, we had a very nice Pastitsio for tea. Pours black with a tan head, faint aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and a little watery coffee. Soft, smooth, sweet with a roasty bitterness. It's an easy drinker and clearly a well put together Impy, but for me whilst I really like a well crafted no nonsense straightforward Impy Stout, this was just falling short and I'm not quite sure why, perhaps the barrel aged version will reveal more.
