Named after the highest point in the State of Utah at 13,528 feet, Kings Peak is located in the Uinta Mountains, a major east-west mountain range in northeastern Utah.
Kings Peak Porter lives up to its name by being big on flavor and complexity. It pours a rich, dark mahogany hue and is complimented by a creamy tan-colored head. Dark chocolate, toasted malt, and coffee may be detected in its nose.

Yet another beer picked up outside Bryce Canyon from Ruby’s Inn general store (at stupidly high prices). Poured into my plastic toothbrush tumbler after a days hiking in the canyon. Sadly I didn’t really enjoy this beer as much as some from Utah. The smell was a weak chocolate aroma, mixed with dirty washing water (yes, I’d cleaned the toothbrush tumbler, but thanks for thinking I hadn’t). The body was dark and the head tan coloured, low retension, no lacing. The taste and body were both thin and boring, I could find no hop content and found the beer poor in almost all aspects, sorry.

12 oz bottle thanks to Sledutah. Used a pint glass. Thin head, nearly no lace. Nose of Chocolate malt. Flavor is roasted with coffee notes, molasses, light chocolate. Pretty simple, average in every way, but enjoyable and this could be an everyday drinker. Mouth feel is a bit on the light side but that’s part of the drinkability. A nice everyday type porter. I would drink this again.

Bottle thanks to Douglas. Poured a near clear dark brown with a gray head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma started with some sweet dark grains and had a bit of chocolate and toast notes. Flavor was similar with a good amount of toast and sweet dark grains with just a hint of bitterness. A bit blah.

0.33L bottle, stable creamy head, clear deep brown colour, aroma of light roasted malt, hay and barnyard, flavours of light roasted malt and coffee, short aftertaste and a bit diluted. A little on the light side but still quite drinkable.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Black color with a small beige head. Aroma of coffee, some dark chocolate and roasted grains. Sweetish roasty flavor with some coffee, a bit of chocolate and light fruitiness. Finishes drier. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Draught at the Bard’s/Oddfellows, Cedar City, UT. Black, small beige head. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Medium bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Fairly dry with pleasant rich flavour of dark chocolate. Medium bitterness. Whoever designed this beer had me in mind - the combination of dryness, softness andrich dark chocolate flavour is spot on. Lovely porter!

Bottle. Pours a cola brown with a moderate, beige head. Light malty nose, some roast. Light malt character, not much chocolate, some fruitiness, light tobacco finish. A bit watery. Thin body, average carbonation. Average overall, actually.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a dark tan head, very little lace left in the glass. Aroma is roasted malt with some chocolate/coffee coming through. The taste is roasted malt with coffee flavors that is thin. Overall a decent porter.
