200ml bottle. Slightly hazy brown/orange body with no head. Sweet alcoholic aroma with dry fruit, spices and honey. Flavor is dominated be sweetness. There is also some bitterness here but for me all nuances is drowning behind the dominating sweetness. I find this totally unbalanced and difficult to drink. 200ml bottle. Cloudy orange body with no head. Moderate sweet, alcoholic and honey aroma. Flavor is sweet honey and floral, not bad at all. This mead gives a warming alcoholic feeling and is not to dominated by honey. Maybe wrong for a mead to have this little honey flavor, but I prefer it this way. Thanx to Yngwie.

Bottle. (trade w/papsoe) Pours a slightly hazy, deep golden body, and some bubbles on the top. It was not as oily as the other four meads I’ve had from Søbogaard. The nose is rather sweet, with alcohol and a spiceyness that didn’t suit me. I didn’t care to much for the flavor either, it has a spicyness that I don’t like, lacking a bit on the sweetness, and the alcohol is too evident. There’s also a note of wet cardboard in it. Quite watery for a mead as well. Definately the least interesting one from Søbogaard. Of those I’ve had, of course. (071019)

Bottle at London Gathering Nov 2005. Compared to the Lyme Bay Mead, this was a little disappointing. Strong alcohol nose with honey too and brown sugar. Way too sweet and even a bit brandyish which would account for my low score as I am not much of a one for brandy.

A very beutiful deep red mead with the fluid making curtains on the glass. The aroma is very sweet - almost warm - with notes of rosehips and cowberries. The flavor is also very sweet but with the acidity and flavor of apples in the background to give it a very nice balance. The acidity is subtle yet it still draws a little mouthwater like a lambic. The flavor also contains notes of rosehips and cowberries, the sweetness stick to your lips, while the acidity stays on your tongue for a long while combined with hints of the alcohol. A very nice mead.

Beautiful garnet-red, teardrops as port- or fortified wine. Very portwine-like nose, alcohol, brown candi sugar yrup. Sweet taste, honey, multitude of fruity flavours, which I cannot pinpoint. No doubt it's rosehips. Very sweet, but there's a sourish tinge on the lips. Fiery alcoholburn, brandy-like. This is nice, big thanks to the Danish delegates for bringing this to me. I'm afraid I'm better at beer descriptions, however.
