500ml can from Rune and Finn from Tromso. Now I have never really looked at a map of Norway, and bugger me they live a long way away from just about anywhere. It’s only really when you look at these guys who live on an island in the arctic circle who have terrific numbers of rates especially as the price of beer there is so astronomical and then they come to London and must have the best time ever. Especially now. Anyway, this rating is dedicated to 2 beer lovers from a wintery island that is Tromso and for the great hour or so I spent with them in The Pakenham Arms on an autumnal Thursday late afternoon. This beer is clear orange gold with a lasting cream coloured head. The aroma I can say is not great. The flavour too isn’t the best in the world. It’s an ok, slightly cardboardy lager. It’s not terrible nor is it particularly good. But as I say the fact this comes from the edge of northern europe fills my heart with a sense of well being. Cheers guys and hope to see you next time you are in the UK.

Can at home. The colour is clear light amber with a small white head. Aromas of pale malt, grass, berries and gooseberry, and hints of spices. The flavour follows with apricot and grassy hops in addition. Light and slick mouth feel, and light bitterness. A surprisingly okay beer.

(Can, 0.5 l, courtesy of Rune - thanks) The beer poured pale copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized, fizzy and white and it disappeared quickly. Aroma had caramell, toffee and mildly grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, toffee, caramell, malts, mildly grass at the background and lowish bitterness. Aftertaste had caramell and bitterness. A bit unbalanced beer: flavours left the middle of my tongue completely deserted.

Canned, thanks Rune! Clear bronze colour, creamy head. Sweet and fruity, some bready malt, slight grassy hops. Light-medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeels. Ripe fruits before a slight salty finish. Nicely drinkable.
