What if an Imperial Stout could give birth to a sour ale? The answer is Calamitous! Black as oil, full bodied, notes of roasted barley malt balanced by a tart finish.

Sampled at the brewpub, pours a deep ruby amber with some creamy, off white head. Nose has pomegranate, apple cider vinegar, some burnt toast, a little industrial. Flavor follows, big blood orange, pomegranate, some super austere red wine, dark dried cherries, even a tannic goji berry thing. Finishes tart and tannic. Interesting.
