Draught (backlog). Deep amber colour with a small white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is cherries, some wood, sweet alcohol, dried fruits and mild honey notes. Flavour is quite similar, but also has some slight spicy notes to it, and the wooden element comes in stronger in the flavour. Complex and heavy weight.

(On tap) Slightly hazy amber golden with a basically absent head. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Surprisingly only medium-bodied, some fruit and an underlying acidity. Subdued bitterness. Unusual. 130908

On tap at EBF 08. Hazy chestnut. Again a bit uncultured. Strong. Some tangerine. Not great.

Draught, 100ml at EBF 08. White head over an amber-copper coloured body. Brandy-like smell with cherries. Lots of dark and dried fruits in flavour with a spicy support. Soft carbonation, but still quite dry in the mouth. Mostly hidden alcohol. Rather heavy to drink (14.09.2008).

Draught Good yellow-beige head, very fine & dense; clear amber-red beer. Acidic-vinous for a Barley Wine, sound hops, chocolate aromas. Dry to a certain acidity, CO² enhanced, more (milk)chocolate, very vinous again, tannins, even. Well-bodied, but not really full-bodied. Nice, but I prefer the Heritage. All the same, thumbs up , Jacob.
