Crafted for the grassroots brewing effort led by our friends at Threes Brewing (Brooklyn, NY), our version of People Power is an oat heavy hazy IPA double dry-hopped with Galaxy and Vic Secret hops. 10% of the proceeds from this beer will go to the ACLU and help them continue to bolster civic engagement and uphold the principles of equality and freedom that are crucial to the health of our democracy.

Ridiculously hazy golden, straw, raw honey coloured body, almost fully opaque, with a single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, cleanser, astringent malt and metal, a deep grain and oatmeal note and some alcohol, all on top of a lot of citrus and juiciness. Medium-bodied; Very rich malt and funky specialty grain notes with a deep and robust pungency - very noticeable in conjunction with the dry and astringent hops that do show a lot of bitterness (in a good way), but not enough sweetness, complexity or frankly fruity or 'juicy' notes. Aftertaste shows plainly the specialty grains, astringent malt and alcohol and overarching dryness with little else, aside from a soft hop bitterness and the faintest dose of tangerines near the end. Overall, a rather deep, funky (due to the malts) and simplistic IPA that isn't New England at all...it's just unfiltered. Not the worst option, but they have much better beers (including IPAs) and this is definitely passable, especially considering all the options you have in the style (from others) or from the brewery (in different styles). I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 25-September-2020 for US$5,30 sampled at my house here in Washington on 02-October-2020.
