750ml bottle pours a muddy brown with some clumpy, beige head. Nose is malty, some berry, cherry, licorice, cocoa powder. Flavor has malt, toast, dried grains, wood shavings, cocoa powder, some jam. Finishes dry, malty, lightly tart.

$12.99 bomber, Total Wine in Gainesville. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, red wine, must. Flavor is tangy dark chocolate, earth, a hint of leaf. Finishes slightly ashy. Not a ton going on here, must admit some disappointment.
