clear blond beer nice creamy white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: hay, grains, malty, sweet, bit oxidized, some marzipan, sweet overall impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malty start, grains, almonds, little bitter. Aftertaste: sweet sugary touch, bitter, almonds, some orange peel, bit oxidized, little banana. Very well preserved and drinkable for such an old beer!

’Pils’ brewed by Huyghe for Het Anker, as far as I know only for sale in Mechelen. Served in a glass that shows the word ’Blusser’ mirrored. Stable, creamy white head, clear pale blonde robe. Aroma lightly malty, some herbal hops, bit cheesy; taste light malt sweetness, minerals, smooth palate, finishing mildly hoppy. Okay lager but nothing special and very akin to Huyghe’s own Campus Premium.

(25cl bottle) Clear, pale golden, effervescent hue with a big and persistent foamy white head. Discreet aroma of slightly sweet and doughy malt with a touch of cardboard. Light-bitter flavour with a tinge of acidity, light bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Mildly malty, slightly chalky and grainy taste with a slightly sourish and faint bitter finish, accompanied by very nasty metallic notes (04.III.09).
