Überhoppy Imperial IPA: Hops, hops glorious hops! There is no mistaking what this beer is; soft and delicate it is not. Überhoppy is meant to completely overwhelm you with resinous, floral, citrus and herbal hops barely balanced by a huge amount of malt that keeps the Lupulin onslaught from resulting in complete palate destruction. If you do not like hops, Überhoppy is NOT the beer for you, do us all a favor and either give this beer to someone with the intestinal fortitude to appreciate it or put it down and walk away. Überhoppy is brewed with 10 different hop varieties and a complete and utter disregard for common logic or sanity. Please consume this beer as soon as possible to ensure maximum hop freshness. Approximately 9.5% ABV.

special 12 oz bottle provided by Davecooks, muchos gracias. What surpirses me about this is how malty of a DIPA it was without heading into the barleywine zone. Its definitely hoppy but I wont say more so than a few standard DIPAs, but there is a real light bread maltiness to it, which probably offsets the hops a lot. I wonder how something like this would age even though it is not created to be aged, as I figure. Also, a very heavy bodied beer, not so used to that either, a nice change of pace. I would say this is the most balanced DIPA I have had.

Draft at the Bistro’s Double IPA Fest; Nose of floral and citrus hops; hazy copper with a small offwhite head; Flavor of citrus hop bitterness balanced by caramel malt, the bitterness being the finish. Very Good!! 8/4/8/4/16 4.0 Rerate from the 8th Bistro DIPA Fest Seems much more hoppy this year with more pineyness than last years batch.

A hazy orange beer with a big orange head - due to high carbonation. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of both hops and caramel. The flavor is sweet and very malty, that combines fine with strong notes of hops - and lesser notes of oranges. The body is powerful, making it thickly floating thru the mouth - the alcohol shows up in the end leaving a slight burn in the top of the throat. Thanks to Rene and Oakes for supplying me with the opportunity to try this.

Bottled (thanks omhper). Dark copper coloured, small off white head. Aroma of beautifully balanced hops. Flavour of a lot of hops and fruits. Mago and nectarine all the way through. A bit harsh grassiness starts to show, so Per was most likely right about that this may be on it’s way going bad... Except for the harsh grassyness underneath, very lovely!

Bottled. Copper amber brown color, very hazy with floating yeast, not much head. Very fruity and hoppy aroma: pineapple, nectarine, mango, lots of hops. Grapefruit bitterness flavor, long long hoppy and fruity aftertaste. Tropical IIPA!

Bottled. Clear brownish amber. Fresh juicy lychheelike hop aroma. Medium dry with soft rounded mouthfeel. Beautiful, solid malt character underneath a wellpointe lacquer of hops. Extremely hop aromatic, but the 150 IBU doesn’t hurt that much at all, instead the bitterness is just pleasant. Extremely drinkable for it’s size.

Dark amber colour. Fresh hop aroma is very blackberryish with a woody background. Very berryish flavour overall, with a toasty malt character. Interesting beer - distinctive and flavourful.

Draft. Rich amber mahogony beer. Big hop aroma with just a bit of malt sweetness. Lots of caramel malt (and some darker malts) that help to provide a backdrop for the big hop flavors - citrus and resin. Easy to drink a lot of this as it hides it’s alcohol very well. Nicely done.
