Tap at the brewery in Stockton. Cloying and more like an american strong than a DIPA. No noticeable hops on the aroma and even flavor. Caramel as well. Pours a clear olde gold.

Kinda cool that this is being brewed again. Pours clear golden, small white head, good lacing. Aroma is strong pine resin, grapefruit. Flavor is boozy, light is sweet, quite bitter. Medium body.

Hazy amber beer. Little white bubbly head. Rich grapefruit hop nose with some odd sweet emulsion paint. Smooth dry palate. Rich marmalade grapefruit hops - help back by that odd milky sweet paint thing. Before the dry finish the hops turn spicy. Underpinned by toffee malt. A little off the wall but decent.

Bottle from New Star-Ell Liquors, San Francisco. Hazy dark amber pour with a bit of sediment swimming about and a small fading off white head. Nose was pretty dang uberbastardhoppy, and almost sickly sweet with notes of butterscotch. Somewhat lacking in finesse but bloody tasty, the flavour was again sticky sweet, and a little on the syrupy side of the tracks. A sack of resin sodden hoppage steam rollered through to give some semblance of balance though. A big in your face beer that packs a big hop hit. Niiiice 1.

Bottle from a trade with Chickencoop. Pours hazy burnt orange color with almost no head. Aromas of caramel, bread dough and pine. Bitter pine flavor with sweet caramel and some alcohol burn. Medium body with almost no carbonation. Decent, but not the great beer I hear it once was. Thanks Jeremy.

Bottle thanks to Wavers1. Dark brown pour with white head. Nose and taste of caramel malts, pine and hops. The caramel malt is starting to get a bit strong, but still quite hoppy.

copper/orange, tan head. yeasty nose, dark caramel malts, dark fruits, citrus / grapefruit and floral hops.. Palate keeps a nice roasted, light caramel presence with a prefect bitter hoppy finish that ends with a warming abv. resinous palate with tangy lingering citrus/floral hops.

Cloudy amber with a large beige head. Hoppy aroma with pine, grapefruits, pine and lemons. Flavour had grapefruits, pine, malt and loads of hops. Finished bitter.

Bottle thanks to ucusty. Pours ambe rwith a near white head. Aroma has a strong hop and grass aroma with notes of caramel and cereal underlying. Flavor begins with a nice caramel and sweet grain note but the hops build quickly with a pine hop finish that is very well balanced.
