This one pours a clear orange amber with a 2 finger head of foam and some nice sticky lacing.
The smell got to me as soon as I popped the cap. Lots of cararmel malt greeted my smell buds. Now that I've popped the cap and am holding the glass to my nose, the malt is still there but I get a big dose of piney and grassy hops as well. Overall, the nose is nicely balanced.
The taste agrees with the nose. The malt and hops are really big and about equal. Caramel malt in abundance balanced by some strong piney hop flavour, a bunch of fruitiness that is all over the map, and a noticeable alcohol kick. Tasty for sure but the alcohol is a bit too prevalent for my liking. Maybe some aging will do some good.
It has a medium mouthfeel and the carbonation is on the light side. It finishes with a slightly sweet flavour and more of the alcohol.
Bottom line: This is a bit raw to me fresh and would probably benefit from some aging but as it is, it is still quite tasty and fairly drinkable. I'll have to try it again in the not too distant future because I think it has great potential...

65 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 25.03.2010
Aroma is somewhat fruity with hops, sweetness and distant floral notes. Flavour has caramel, exotic fruits, hops, some alcohol and biscuits. Too low on hops, too high on alcohol and sweetness. Probably would have been better fresh.

Bottle shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. Pours a clear peach color with a thin head. Decent head retention. Aroma of earthy, peppery hops, mineral notes and toffee malts. The taste is bitter hops, peppery notes, citrus hops and toffee malts. Medium bodied.

Hopfiger, leicht scharfer Antrunk. 10/12/10/12/11/12

22 oz bomber, consumed 4/8/11. Poured a hazy orange color with a small compact creamy head. Aroma was malty, alcohol, caramel, toffee, touch of hops (though age has obviously mellowed it). Flavor is malty, touch of hops, alcohol is certainly present. A solid Imperial IPA, but expected something more from this. It’s held up extremely well since it was bottled, so even though I’m late... happy anniversary!

A hazed dark amber ale with a thin off white head. An intense meaty hoppy aroma, with light menthol, exotic fruits, lichee and watermelon, maple notes. In mouth, a smooth sweet malt with scotch whiskey tones, floral pinhey hops, maple, coffee notes, rich and intense. Tasted with Diogene, GRM, Probstk, and Grant, May 19 2010.
