A dark ruby beer with a mellow, creamy, coffee aroma, plus a hint of blackberry. The taste is creamy, mellow, coffeeish, bittersweet and easy-drinking, with blackberry fruit emerging. Drying, bittersweet, creamy, roasted malt finish.

26/2/2022. Bottle shared with the ITFC boys at the Morecambe tasting. From Sandringham Estate shop. Pours almost black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, ash, nut, dark fruits, berries. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness with a light sour edge. Moderate body, slightly watery, average carbonation. Sour berry finish. Okay.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear black with a reddish hue and a beige head. Burned malty aroma and a somewhat vinous, port-like edge. Medium body with good burned malts and dried fruit accents. Lightly bitter finish. A pleasant one. 230808
