Can from LCBO. Obvious black pour, with light ruby hues allowed through, and a medium brown head. Aroma is light cocoa nibs, light roast, hints of espresso, with a sweet vanilla end. Mouth feel is thin, but not too bad. Carb is soft, but pleasant. Finish is light to medium bitter, with a strong vanilla sweetness, that balances well with the nice roasty notes. Not bad, but i dont see any resemblance to schwarzbier.

Part of their Winter Collection 6-pack. Oh boy, a rich nose ! Some roasted malts, but with the vanilla and chocolate notes. Dark brown colour with copper highlights, a fluffy frothy light mocha-coloured head good stay and foamy patches. The mouthfeel is where you feel the lager difference. Fairly thin. The taste is not too sweet with the roasted barley blending with well with the vanilla notes. The oatmeal is quite soft in here. Pretty light in the mouth showing 4% ABV. with this version. Nice to try.
