Cask stillage at the Birmingham CAMRA festival 2014. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy white round head. The aroma is roasted malt. The flavour is light bitter with a light grass hop bitter light roasty palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask @ March Hare, Dunton. Dark brown, clear with very little head or lacing. Aroma of powdered chocolate and crystal malt, with a hint of woodsmoke. Taste is sweet and light, carrying the flavours throughout the profile. Dry finish with a sweet edge. A wonder of a mild ale.

Cask, one-third pint, GBBF 2013. Jet black body with a rustic tint. Bubbly ring to the edge of the glass. Inviting dark caramel aroma. Biscuit malty taste, fine roasted. A little roasted bitterness to the ending. Decent mild. Easy to drink (London Olympia 15.08.2013).

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 4 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, liquorice and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, dark bread and hints of smoke. Rather light body, mainly dry with a mild bitterness. Quite nice mild ale.
