Cask at GBBF, 2012. Reddish-brown pour with a white head. Coffee and caramel aroma. Caramel and light coffee flavour with a hint of smoke. Dry and smooth. Tasty stuff.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earlโs Court, 4 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, liquorice and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, dark bread and hints of smoke. Rather light body, mainly dry with a mild bitterness. Quite nice mild ale.

Clear dark brown beer. Little tan head. Malty nose. Darl malt but with a light presence and dry. Some lactose sweetness. Minerally semi dry finish.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Ruby red - brownish colour, off-white head. Aroma is mostly sour fruits, some roasted malts. Flavour is roasted malt and sour fruits. Slightly bitter finish. Straightforward, well drinkable.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2008. Pours a clear dark brown almost black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some smokey hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

Cask at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen. A red-brown beer with a bubbly brown head. The aroma is sweet malty and quite roasted, with a bit of tobacco. The flavor is sweet wit strong notes of Malt, and some chocolate and a bit of tobacco. The finish is bitter and roated and the body thin.

cask, lord nelson denmark poured clear brown not much head. even after warming it up i had problems getting an aroma. aroma is faint licorice, faint dark fruits, faint roasted malts, toffee. flavor is lots of licorice, supplemented with roasted malts, tar, faint 100% dry chocolate, mouthfeel is good, overall a tasty and full session beer.

From cask at Lord Nelson. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Roasted and mild fruity aroma. Mild roasted and slight breadish dark malty base flavour with a light bitterness coming through. Mild bitter and medium dry finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, peat. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (080808)
