Cask @ Quinns, Kentish Town. Pours a clear pale golden color with a small white head. Fruity malty hoppy aroma. Sweet smooth malty and hoppy flavor with some hints of citrus. Malty and hoppy bitter finish, with a dry bitter aftertaste.

Cask at Merton Summer Beer Festival 07-07-07. Another very good beer from Vale, maybe not quite as distinctive as the VPA which I was also impressed with recently but a very good beer all the same. Poured pale gold with white bubbly head it had a good crispy bite to it but unlike Glen I didn’t quite think that it was as bitter as it could have been. I think the Grand Union Simcoe was such a spoiler for all those other golden beers out there that the bar had been really set very high indeed and whilst this the Donkeys Delight and the Caught Short to name a couple all performed admirably and were very good beers in their own right the beer that I would go back to time and time again for a little taster could only be the Simcoe. I’m aware that this was the first batch from the brewery and that they are expecting to tweak and improve on this, so looking forward to trying it again and pleasing to see these new beers from Vale in recent months.
