Windbound Campfire Pilsner is a crisp & easy-drinking, lightly smoked lager. The bready backbone is balanced by earthy hops, with just hint of smoke, reminiscent of unwinding by the campfire after a hard day’s paddle.

This smoked poured a hazy, medium yellow colour with a bright white, creamy head. Nice lacing. Scents include straw, malt, honey and dough. Couldn’t get any smoke from the nose. First swig was crisp and fresh as a pils usually is with flavours of malt, hop bitterness, honey… very little if not any smoke at all. Finish is malt with a nice medium hop bitterness lingering.

Clean, golden colour with nice carbonation, a frothy white head, good stay and sticky lacing. Fresh, herbal hop nose with a touch of smoky malt, and hints of raisins, yeast. The taste shows grassy freshness again with just a tad smokiness and nice dryness in the finish. Notes of spicy, Pilsner maltiness all-around. An interesting - more Pilsner, less Rauchbier that might be for those who have not tried a smoked beer before. A little weird.

Clear yellow, medium white head. Aroma is light smoke, hints of peat, some soft cereals, light grasses. Mouth feel is crisp, and clean. Finish is delightfully smoky, and refreshing.
