(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate. Rather light body, dry, with a generous coffee bitterness. Possibly a bit thin, but nice and well made stout.

Cask handpull from Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Black, thin tan head. Lots of roast on aroma, but lots of blackcurrant too. Really burnt malts the kind of intensity you’d associate with an impy stout. A little watery in the body, but the blackcurrant slightly sour finish over intense dark malts is very impressive
