A true English bitter with a bold aroma and a brave heart. Inspired by the great warriors of English history, Valiant is made with English malt and citrussy hops. The result is a subtly hoppy, zesty flavour with a clean, robust finish.

From BA: May 2006. Long time fan of this beer, but never reviewed it until now for some reason. The review is from a tasting at the bi-annual beer festival at the Bateman’s brewery. They put on 5 cask beers of their own and have another 15 barrels from small brewers also available to drink. Hand-pulled in the base of their famous windmill, my pint glass looked beautiful, a light amber, golden beer, this was clear and had a good off-white head sat on top. The Styrian and Challenger hops give it a good hoppy aroma and the taste is crisp, sharp and refreashing. The flavours stay in the mouth, with bitterness coming through towards the end. A great beer, from a good brewery.

Warning! Early amateur rating! On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Reminds of Oakham JHB - fruity and zesty. Light palate. Not that bitter. Nice.

Cask Conditioned at The Angel & Crown, London
Hazy golden color. Light aroma, hoppy, a bit citrusy and grassy. Malt flavor; the mouthfeel is dry, also because of the very strong bitterness; the hops are a bit citrusy and resiny and grassy. Pleasant, even if not very complex.
