Bottled. Rubeyish amber colour, small head. Aroma is raspberry, not much else. Flavour is raspberries along with wood and some mild sweetness from brown sugar or syrup. Not too impressed.

750 ml. bottle corked and caged, purchased at Lukas Liquor in KCMO. Pour is reddish brown with a 2 inch off white head, which some faint pink highlights. Aroma is raspberry, though a fairly thickly sweet raspberry, more akin to a jelly or syrup. The taste is the raspberries, though they come across with a bit more fruit this time. The base bierre de garde has a nice body, and some decent mineral earthiness to hold up the fruit. Finish is dry and clean. Overall, a moderately refreshing beer.

Bottle, corked and caged. Rather a mahogany color with a decent pink tinged head. Very strong aroma of raspberry. Near medium in body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is berry, quickly followed by a quick breadiness, which leaves. Finish is neither sweet nor dry. Ends with seed flavor and malt remnants suggesting a brown ale. Certainly interesting.

Bottle, 6%. From a distance the raspberry aroma is nice, but up close there is some plastic. Hazy red colour. Raspberry flavour, some phenol. Distinct liquorice, nice enough, but not with raspberry. Berry pit bitterness, tolerable.

Bottle at Le Quincampe, Paris
Hazy ruby color; big head. Aroma of ripe raspberries, like a jam. The flavor has little beer in it, but a quite evident raspberry jam touch, medium sweetness. A bit fake, suitable only for who likes the style.

bottle at O’Donnell’s in Ft Wayne - Pours red with a very thin head and has a big sweet raspberry aroma. Initially I thought I was getting a lambic, but I didn’t notice lambic funk in the aroma or flavor. I see it’s labeled a fruit beer here and that fits. Anyway, the flavor is also sweet and really dominated by the raspberries and they’re alright, but overall it’s a thin, somewhat less than impressive beer.
