7.3% alc/vol, re-fermented in the can. Made with pale malt, East Kent Goldings hops and yeast.
This is a re-creation of the IPA recipe from Burton-Upon-Trent that replaced the original London IPA in 1823, down to the water chemistry. It spent months in oak barrels to simulate the sea voyage to India.

Poured from 473mL can. Clear gold with small white head. Mild brett, oak, quite minerally. Softer brett and oak compared to the 1754. Thinner bodied finish. Okay.

473 ml can. Pours a dull amber with light head. Aromas of Brett, cottony fruit and bready malts. Flavors of same with a bit of oak. Similar to the 1754 IPA without as much oak. Were old IPA really that Bretty? I would expect a bit of sourness; and where are the bitter hops? OK for a Bretty IPA…

473mL can, pours a clear amber orange with a small off-white head. Nose has plenty of brett, some faded, sweaty, earthy hops, and bready malt. Flavour is bretty, oaky and dry, with plenty of bready malt, light esters, and some earthiness. Quite similar to the 1754. It’s solid.

Amber and hazy, with a thick head. Bretty aroma. Earthy and sweet. Light brett character, with a light oak character. A bit of alcohol late.
